Rev. Shawn Scheffler has taught for over 20 years and in that time has learned the needs of a successful children’s ministry and garnered the knowledge to write, “The Essentials.” Shawn believes that what God expects and children need are ministers and leaders whom God has called and qualified, even though all your attributes are important, offer God your inability to perform anything without his help. Shawn has served as Children’s Pastor in the church since 1993.  Currently he is the Director of Student Ministries at Opened Door Christian Fellowship in Laurie, MO.  He has been the Director of multiple Children’s Camps and Vacation Bible Schools. In addition to being in the ministry Shawn has worked in Retail Management for 20 years and counting.   His experience in sales has led to a rewarding career and helped him develop an extensive background and training in people skills.
